Her program of research has been supported by numerous training awards, including a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/cihr-irsc.gc.ca\/e\/50513.html\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/cihr-irsc.gc.ca\/e\/50513.html\" target=\"_blank\">Canadian Institutes of Health Research Fellowship<\/a> and a <a href=\"https:\/\/albertainnovates.ca\/programs\/postgraduate-fellowships-in-health-innovation\/\">Postgraduate Fellowship in Health Innovation provided by Alberta Innovates<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. England-Mason received her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from McMaster University in 2018. Her graduate work was supervised by <a href=\"https:\/\/offordcentre.com\/people\/andrea-gonzalez\/\">Dr. Andrea Gonzalez<\/a>. She then joined the <a href=\"https:\/\/apronstudy.ca\/\">Alberta Pregnancy Outcomes and Nutrition (APrON)<\/a> study team and completed her postdoctoral training under the mentorship of <a href=\"https:\/\/research4kids.ucalgary.ca\/profiles\/deborah-dewey\">Dr. Deborah Dewey<\/a>. She is currently co-lead of the APrON Neurotox study with Dr. Dewey. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. England-Mason\u2019s research seeks to improve the neurodevelopment and well-being of children and communities through studies that investigate the influence of environmental exposures on the developmental origins of health and disease. She possesses remarkable research expertise that spans the disciplines of neuroscience, environmental epidemiology, molecular biology, intervention science, and biostatistics. Through her research, she aims to better understand the mechanisms of developmental change and inform interventions and policies that support the health and well-being of Canadian families.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Gillian England-Mason is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Calgary.
